Well known for presenting lectures based on the history of the various regions of the Eastern and Western Med, Egypt, the Middle East, Crimea, Rome and Pompeii, Frances Boardman will be giving a talk on the "first modern war" and how it became a watershed moment in 19th-century history that transformed warfare, techology, medicine and communication.
